Hospitality & leisure advisory

Advisory for investors and operators building something in the UAE's visitor economy.

Dubai's leisure market is crowded at every price point, which means a new venture succeeds on positioning rather than quality alone. Plenty of well-executed concepts fail because they landed in a segment that was already saturated, or priced themselves into a gap that did not exist.

We work through concept definition and positioning against the actual competitive set, then into the operational questions that decide viability — location logic, capacity assumptions, staffing model, seasonality exposure and the realistic ramp before a venture stabilises.

This is advisory rather than execution. We give you a clear read on whether the concept holds and what would have to be true for it to work — including, when it applies, a recommendation not to proceed.

What the engagement includes

  • Concept definition and competitive positioning
  • Location and catchment assessment
  • Capacity, staffing and operating model planning
  • Seasonality and demand pattern analysis
  • Launch strategy and ramp-up planning

Every engagement follows the four-stage process used across the tourism & recreation consultancy desk — brief, then the work, then review, then delivery — with scope and cost agreed in writing before anything begins.

(FAQ)
Do you produce feasibility studies?

We produce advisory analysis covering market positioning, operating assumptions and commercial logic. Where a formal feasibility study is required for financing, we will tell you what additional work that involves.

Can you advise on an existing operation?

Yes. Repositioning an underperforming venue is often a more tractable problem than launching a new one, because the demand data already exists.

Will you tell me if the concept won't work?

Yes, and we would rather do it early. An advisory engagement that ends in a recommendation not to proceed has usually saved considerably more than it cost.
